Out Of Character
001
your character does not have to
ride or own a horse to be a part of
Emerald Hills. we need plenty of
characters who aren't involved with
horses. whether you are in or out of
character it is important that you
respect all members. this goes for
guests as well!
also--follow proboards rules okay?
002
when you sign up you may use any name
you want, but we ask that you change
your name to your character's name.
character's need to be at least 13 years
old. if you absolutely need to have
a character younger than that please
pm admin. and if you are waiting for your
character to be accepted, fill out the
claims, this includes horse creation!
003
one character per account. however,
this may change in the future. when you
get started on your character please
not that you have 7 days to finish the bio
or else we will put it in the unfinished board.
all claims you made will be deleted as well
as horses.
004
whether you are in OOC or in character,
racists remarks will not be tolerated.
please keep in mind that this is a PG to
PG-13 board.
005
Emerald Hills is open to all levels of roleplayers
but we ask that you provide posts that
are 200 words or more. If you wish, you may
put a certainlevel of roleplay in your title.
ie. [open/advanced] for now we will say that
1-2 years is beginner, 3-4 is
intermediate, and 4+ is advanced.
006
on Emerald Hills we do have money per post
every member makes. when you first start
you automatically get $5,000 and $75 per post.
also, you don't need to know much or anything
about horses at all. Admin and mods are here
to answer any questions you have.
In Character
007
cursing is allowed, however, try not to get
too carried away with it.
008
this is a realistic rp, so don't have any horses
with wings or pink and purple highlights, k?
009
not every character can be a professional
rider, instructor, or advanced rider. We
have to have some beginner & intermediates.
010
no powerplaying or godmodding, period. It's
okay if you say "She gave him a playful tap on
the shoulder." but don't go about saying, "She
took him out with one blow."
Horses
011
at Emerald Hills we offer pretty much every
riding discipline. just because it's not mentioned
doesn't mean your character can't do it.
012
every character/account will start off with two
starter horses. after that, horses will cost anywhere
from $500-$3,000. we will have sales if other members
no long want their horses. but we will also have admin
created horses that will be up for sale every month or
so. in addition to those horses, we will have "school"
horses that belong to the stables. these horses can be
put up for sale or lease depending on the stable owner.
013
in order to breed your horse they must have 100 or more
points. you get points by entering them in shows. we will
have shows characters can enter your horses in and people
will make posts. together, admin & mods will vote on the
placings based on your posts. we will have different levels
for beginner, intermediate, and advanced ropleplayers
to keep it fair.
014
there are two stables here. Emerald Hills Equestrian &
Bear Creek Ranch. Both offer show jumping, hunter,
pair pacing, western, gymkhana, dressage, English, etc.
you can't buy a horse trained in western and show it in
Dressage. you can have your horse trained in similar
disciplines. ie. western & gymkhana or ,such as in 4-H,
western & English. Each stable offers horses that can
be leased or bought by members. Leasing means you
pay a certain amount of money each month to ride a horse
and no one else can ride it. To lease a horse we won't make
you pay money every month. You can find the horse lists for
each stable in the main barns.
015
riders can have mares, stallions, & geldings. but please
keep it real, you wouldn't normally have a beginner rider
owning a stallion.
016
breeding season will take place every year in the spring.
seasons will change every month, so four months=1 year.
we will offer admin created stallions as well as member
stallions that have 300 points or more.
017
members need to use realistic pictures for their
characters if they choose to use a picture. this means
no anime or drawings, sorry. updated 12/13/11
other than that your biggest rule is to have fun! so go
create those awesome characters!
